    OUR COMPANY HISTORY

    The Murray Company began in Tampa, Florida in 1981 as a regional office of the R.W. Murray Company. In 1987 we became The Murray Company when Dick Arnoldy, Bob Murray, Barry Koenemann and Constance Schwartz incorporated the Tampa office. For over twenty years, The Murray Company has been a Florida based design/build general contractor providing nationwide facility solutions to our clients.

    In 1992 Dick Arnoldy and Jeff Cook founded ARCO Construction Company in St. Louis, Missouri. At the same time, Dick Arnoldy also bought his partners' interest in The Murray Company and became the sole shareholder. Today, Dick Arnoldy, Jeff Cook, Greg Albers and Steve Holste own The Murray Company. The Murray Company and the ARCO Companies share common ownership, resources, and philosophies.

    For years The Murray Company, like its predecessor the R.W. Murray Company, specialized in industrial and office construction, interior renovations and healthcare projects. In recent years, however, a growing portion of our business has focused on medical/pharmaceutical manufacturing, microelectronics, and industrial laundry projects. In each market we continuously focus on learning our customer's business to better solve their problems.

    Although The Murray Company is based in Clearwater, Florida, we are fully capable of performing projects anywhere in the United States. Our exceptional teams in Clearwater, Atlanta, St. Louis, Chicago, Philadelphia, Cincinnati, San Leandro, CA, and Chesapeake, VA combined with our extensive subcontractor, vendor and consultant partner relationships have been keys to our success throughout the country. To date, The Murray Company and ARCO have completed or are performing construction projects in over thirty (30) states. As our clients grow and expand their operations, The Murray Company is ready and able to provide quality design-build solutions to meet their facility.

    Our associates are the primary reason that we have been successful, and we strive diligently to find the best associates for all positions. We budget and spend extensively for training each year, providing our associates training and relevant experience in leadership, technical issues, safety, teamwork and customer service. We also provide our associates with opportunities for financial success based on merit. As a result, we have a highly motivated team of experienced, dedicated associates ready to serve our customers. This commitment to quality, customer service and problem solving is the cornerstone of our success.

    Our “customer first” philosophy is the foundation of our entire organization, and we treat every construction project as the first of many with a customer. In fact, most of our recent project history involves repeat clients with whom we have developed lifelong relationships based on trust and respect.
